First Phone Call = First Date

Your goal is to get to know her better and possibly become her “lover”. Your lover is not someone with whom you have idle chit-chat on the phone while playing Wii… well, not until MUCH later. :-)

The lovin’ part of “lover” usually happens face-to-face, on a living room couch, or in a bedroom (or a local park if you’re feeling particularly adventurous ;-) ).



2. Keep the first phone call brief.

When I say brief, I mean 5-10 minutes. Setting up a get together (see number 1) shouldn’t take longer than that.



3. Make her laugh!

Steer clear of topics like your *yawn* job… And your equally *yawn* family. BOOO-ring. On your first phone call, have something funny to say. Tell her something odd that happened to you that day… or tease her about the way she looked REALLY excited when you told her (yes, TOLD her) to give you her phone number. :-) Light-hearted conversation will entice her and make her WANT to spend time with you.



4. Silence your fear of rejection and take a huge (but not dangerous) risk.

Tell her that you want to see her on __(whenever is convenient for YOU)___ and then SHUT. YOUR. MOUTH.

Do not add “or whenever is good for you” or “if that works with your schedule.” In fact, do not even ask for her schedule first! If she wants to go out with you SHE will offer an alternative time/day if the date/time you suggested doesn’t work for her.

You just have to remember to close your mouth after you say it… and she will do the rest. This is an easy way to stay out of the Friend Zone. Man up and take the lead. :-)



5. Have an idea of where you want to go.

Think about the conversation that you had with her when you first met. Did she mention any clues about her personality? Did she say that she enjoyed anything in particular? What was she wearing? Were you in a book store when you met? Or was it a nightclub?

Become a detective and think about the details to try to figure her out a bit. In order to do that you should listen more than you talk.

And if she didn’t give you any clues when you first met her, then have two really interesting/nice/relaxed places in mind. Some date ideas that make her think “Hmmm, that sounds like a cool place to go.”



6. Become an attractive person before you make the first phone call. (Don't even bother getting phone numbers until you become attractive. )
