Attitude of Gratitude

Let’s practice an Attitude of Gratitude.

Gratitude is such an important practice for us and we are so excited to share it with you!  It costs nothing yet makes such a BIG difference in our lives.  Studies have shown that it can increase happiness, lead to better physical health, better sleep, encourage greater resilience and even strengthen relationships.  Wow, pretty powerful stuff right?  So what is an easy, fun way to incorporate gratitude into your life?

A Gratitude Jar.  We make this with our girls in class and they love it!  It is super easy, you feel so good about yourself while doing it and it is fun!  You can make these yourself or with your children.  To make a gratitude jar you will need:

A jar or container,

A pen or markers and

Small pieces of paper.

First, write down things you are grateful for on the pieces of paper.  It can be simple things like I am grateful for my smile, I am grateful for laughter.  It could also be things like I am grateful for my children, I am grateful for my strong body, I am grateful for my kind heart.  The notes can be general and specific.  After you are finished, fold the notes up and put them into the jar.  Set it out in your house and you can pull one out whenever you need a little boost.  You could even make a family gratitude jar too and pull and read them together.  So get after it girl and let us know how is goes!  Tag us in your pictures of your Gratitude Jars on Instagram @FirstLoveYouSE we would LOVE to see what you come up with.

XOXO
